New Shadow Ministry Welcomed
The Australian Energy Council welcomes the announcement of the Opposition Shadow Ministry and congratulates the Hon Mark Butler MP on his reappointment to Shadow Cabinet as Climate Change and Energy spokesman.
The AEC’s Chief Executive Sarah McNamara said “Mark Butler has demonstrated a good understanding of the issues confronting the energy sector, and his appointment recognises the value of his energy experience.
“This next term of Parliament now provides an opportunity for the industry to work constructively with the Government and all members of the new Parliament to deliver better results for households and businesses.”
About the Australian Energy Council
The Council represents 23 major electricity and downstream natural gas businesses operating in competitive wholesale and retail energy markets. These businesses collectively generate the overwhelming majority of electricity in Australia and sell gas and electricity to over 10 million homes and businesses.
